Re-Read my posts, I never said I WANT 2-1/2" collectors I was asking (being a MoPar Q/A Board) if that would make more sense. Equal length headers is confusing me, what do you mean equal length? Are the TTI 1-7/8" headers equal length? Loud isn't what I want, if you haven't heard a good sounding car that isn't loud then you musn't get out much. Buy a Honda? Then I'd have to get loud pipes. To droney as I've said before, I don't want to cruise the highways droning my ears out. Remember this is a street car question not an 11 second street car. ;D

That means that each tube in the header is equal in length to the other. They are not unless they spec. sheets specifically state that. Even then, you gotta check them to make sure. Just cause its a street machine and not an 11 sec spine jammin, wheel stand pull SOB, doesnt mean that you should care less about the specifics about your ride. You make it sound like you have researched and checked into exhaust systems, but yet you dont know what it means when we say equal length? And your "reputiable source", sounds like Deep Throat has come out of hiding again....... Good luck.......

The only place that I know that makes a high quality 'well tuned' equal length header, for the B/RB engines, is Headers by Ed. They tend to have a very long back log. The cost starts at just $1,075 for B/RB headers in 1 3/4", 1 7/8", or 2" primary tubes.. They don't coat their headers, but they do give you a 10% discount coupon for JET HOT. They are the best headers by far, however you must decide how much money you would like to spend. At a minimum, I would recommend buying their information package. It will give you a great tutorial on header design, how they work, and how to decide what you need. www.headersbyed.com/ajmopar - since you have a lot of bad to say about TTI, why haven't you recommended a high quality header brand that meets your level of quality?? coil - we all know that too much back pressure is a bad thing. On the other side of that, not enough bakc pressure will kill your low end. On a purely street 440, 3" pipes with a proper X-pipe will kill the bottom end. So, you took your POS nova, removed the small factory single exhaust and put in a dual 3" system with compression bends. Yes, you are going to see an improvement. That's a no brainer. Drop down the size of that pipe, use quality mandrel bends, install and X-pipe and you will see even more improvement.

Thanks MoPower. I have only chosen TTI because I've what I have heard, Moparmuscle magazine, Mopar boards etc all have good things to say about them. They fit well and do a great job. My reptuable sources are good car people I believe you know Chryco? and ED from Moparchat? If anything I maybe getting there info wrong but they know there cars and I'm quite happy to trust them in there decisions. Thats what these boards are for, right? I haven't done as much research as I should on the matter but so far I'm definitely leaning TTI, maybe not the "best" headers around but they are good. Why do so many people rate them as good and say performance was enhanced when the tti system (headers/exhaust) was placed on? Must be good? I'm know car guru thats why I'm here to ask and learn. So....... I'm not to sure I'd be interested in the Ed Headers thanks MoPower but I will keep them in my mind for future refferences. They sound really good from what you say but I haven't heard much about them. Sounds may not be a factor to some of you racers but sounds is important to me must sound like a muscle car not a loud fart. It's a street cruiser. Speed, well I'm quite happy with a stock 440's speed so ANY improvment is cool. I know I need headers and since I'm in resto nows the time to put them in. Why is my 1-7/8" Primary tubes t0 3" collecotrs and 2-1/2" X-Pipe exhaust system set-up bad? I've asked a few people on other boards and they've all said that sounds correct and good?!?

The major thing is that the TTI headers fit better and produce more power than their competition. The TTI headers are far superior to manifolds.
The 'Headers by Ed' are far superior to the TTI headers. However, must of us cannot justify the $1,075 (and up) for a pair of headers.

Thanks MoPower. It's notso much the money it's just they fit better, let the engine breath a little better and still increase hp over stock manifolds. Between 15-30hp so I've been told. Thats all good. These Ed Headers sound keuwl, might look into that later in life when this street "cruiser" is complete I will be saving my pennys for another MoPar, an all out street machine not held back by matching numbers!!! Have to save for my first house first. LOL!! And you know what comes with a first house eh!........................a garage!!! ;D Thanks for your help mate your a king. I'vre emailed tti asking for a part number or if they or Mancini sell the X-pipe. I've been told they do have an X-Pipe for my system and others. Cheers, Carl
