Anyone see the horrible crash he had today? Fatal accidents are such a shock in the drag racing world. I feel horrible for his family. I had my kids with me at Sears Point a few years ago when a girl lost her life in an alchohol dragster. Fortunately we weren't in the stands when it happend. God's speed Darrell.

I finally tuned in at the begining of final round. Heard some talk about it but missed it. I was hoping to catch a clip of what happened. I will be checking NHRA video clips tomorrow.
What happened?

It looked like he blew a rear tire right after he popped his chutes. Then the wing collapsed and the whole car broke into pieces. The car slid into the other lane and almost hit Scott Kallitta. There was a flash of fire just before the car stopped sliding.

Saw a replay on Windtunnell last night. All I want to know is who is resoponsible for the land mine that was burried in the left lane just past the finish line. Amazing that Clit-etta was not wiped out.
