Are they really needed? I have a set of 906's going to the shop to be ported and bigger valves. I was told they are not nessary . it that correct or should I get them installed?

Seat erosion on unleaded fuel is a real issue ,personally I have the hard seats on the exhust side on my heads , if you don`t drive the car many miles or rebuild often you may not need them

It certainly cant hurt to use them. From what I have read its debatable. At least use SS exhaust valves.
