This seems the closest place to post...I just found out I have Badger pistons....my ring gaps are .028 to .030 so will be replacing...have been advised to hone and go with cast rings. Anyone have any thoughts on Moly rings Vs Cast?...Thanks!

A light hone and cast rings, works beauty. They seat nice and fast, and live a long time. You may get that car running by mission yet!

Wow!...5 stars and a Global Moderator title ;D...thanks for the input. Heads are in getting new hardened seats cause the exhaust ones were pounded down. Also guides and SS exhaust valves. These are ..ssshhhhh..chebbie valves. ...reason being the stem diameter in the exhaust port is less than the mopar valves, therefore giving better flow (supposidly)...hope I dont get flamed for this seeing that Dave is looking for someone to ban

So are you going with cast or plasma moly??? I did the plasma molys in my 340, they are not cheap, cast is a better deal, cost wise.

As of now will probably use cast...Cost isnt an issue, I just want what will seal the best. Was told that molys work better with a fresh bore. Mine isnt. I'm wondering why the rings in it now are worn out. Its only got about 25k on them. Maybe I should get the piston ring grooves checked.
