Just to let you all know out there....
Installed a set of Cal-Tracs. on my 69 Dart GTS. Car use to go literally sideways through 1st and 2nd gear before the installation. I have 225-60r14's small tires on right now. Now that these are installed my car doesn't smoke the tires through 2nd and just barley breaks traction throughout first gear. I installed the suggested Rancho 9000 shocks which have the 9 way adjustable settings on them so I think some more tweaking with those and the Cal-Tracs and I'll get her to hook up no problem.
Now, if they'd only help with the lean running carb that I have...... :)LOL

Wow, sounds like they worked for you. I installed a set and my 60 ft went to crap. Had a snubber before and ran 1.8's and an occassional 1.7. Since the change have been running 1.9's and occassional 1.8. What is your preload? which hole on the front bracket are you using?

I installed the Cal-Tracs as in the directions. The front pivot is in the lowest hole and the preload was set with me in the car and the bar that goes over the spring just touching, then I backed it off 1/2 turn to give it some more slack. Works awesome! I won't be able to compare time slips to give definate #'s since I put them on before I went to the track the 1st time but I know for sure that my car hooks better by the loss of the "burning rubber" sound.. "errrrrrrrrrrrrrt"

I have caltracs on my 67 440cuda, so far with them set at 1 turn preload, and 10 pounds of air in pheonix 28.5 by 11 .5 slicks it has turned 1.52 to 1.55 60 foots, I backed off preload 1/2 turn stayed with 10 pounds of air and had a 1.49 60 foot, then tried same preload at 1/2 turn and 12 pounds of air and another 1.49 60 foot. working great but still experimenting. I think it can do better, this is with 3000 stall in 3085 pound car with driver, Tim
