Im trying to decide how to set up my leaf spring set up to cure my traction woes. I have a 70 cuda, with stock suspention now. Im thinking either, SS springs and drag shocks or the Cal Tracs bars and Drag shocks. Ive been told NOT to run SS springs with caltracs. The SS springs are a proven method that has been around since before i was born. THe cal tracs are a new approach and supposedly work very well. If anyone has experience with both or can enlighten me with their wisdom of either, that would be great.. thanks Joe

The SS springs work ok , but it will only get you so far , th eolder springs were better , the new ones are made in Mexico I have never tried theCal Tracs but I have heard a lot about them the principle is sound & people seem shappy with them ,i have used ladder bars in the past with excellent results I would use the Cal tracs or Ladders over the SS springs personally

Devilbrad Is that your truck?? Whats it got for a motor ?? I am currently building a big block 451 Dakota and am debating on what to run for a rear suspension either lader bars with floating leafs or caltracs. Also my Dakota is a long wheel base not sure if its going to make it harder to hook up or better??
PS I am hopping for mid to low 12's maybe high 11's . Also this truck will be street driven all summer long.

CalTracs also offer a complete kit with the CalTracs and leafsprings.
