the trans is out of some sort of 1980 mopar with a 400 engine. the problem i have is that the lockup converter works too well. by that i mean that as soon as the trans shifts into 3rd, the converter locks up. i have seen references to TSB's that address this problem, and some vague references to what others did to correct it (they may be perfectly clear to the person that posted them, but as i have only seen this valve body once, they are meaningless to me). something about orange springs and rubber hoses... . what i would like to do if possible, is to delay the lockup till the vehicle reaches 45 mph or so. if i could do this, i wouldnt have to drive around town in 2nd, or shift down to 2nd from 3rd all the time. after all, it is an AUTOMATIC transmission... ;D. and if there are any pics that would help clarify things, those would be almost priceless. thanks for any help.
