Well it all started like this... I got a killer deal on a 85 D-150 Ram with a slant six. Perfect for my 15 year old to learn to drive and repair right, what could be more indestructable. Truck came with a 4bl, headers and all the right linkage to run both. Well after fixing collision damage and replacing the carb, head and just some general reapairs everything is ready to go. Truck starts and runs awesome until it leaves the driveway what a freaking dog. Well come to find out this year has a bunch of computer stuff that is MIA instead of good old ECU and vacum advance. The question is how do I convert a duel pickup to a single so I can use a vacum advance distibutor. The wire harness on this thing has been severly violated prior to me getting it and a bunch of factory computer stuff is gone, mainly the brain that tells the timing to advance while driving (which sucks). Any know how on this one would be great. I have a vacum advance distibutor but am unsure on how to convert duel to single pickup on this particular harness. Does Don do /6 ignitnions that would act as the brain and conect to single pick up? Not to mention would they plug up to this years abortion of a ignition system?

you need to swap the dist , use a control box FBO or other & connect the blue switched wire to the ECU for 12v power this wiull bypass all the computer controls

By switched wire you mean one that is controlled by the ignition? What would it take to make this a full old school electronic ignition?

In most states and it may be even be a federal law prohibits the alteration of emmisions control systems. However if you have a tree chipper with a Mopar dual pick up ignition system here's how you ..adjust it.... ;D www.4secondsflat.com/ECU_wiring_instructions.html
