this is for my dad, he has a 49 Hudson pickup with a twin H flathead 6. He was wondering if there was a way to convert to a mag pickup type ignition to replace his points. this is a 6V positive ground system.
obviousely, he's not looking to burn up the 1320, but he was thinking something along the lines of a pertronix for reliablilty.

Not for 6 Volt systems
If you were to carry a spare 12V battery, then a pertronix kit could probably be made to work somehow.

Thanks Don, I talked to him over the weekend and he is leaning towards converting to 12v. He wants to drive it alot so that makes sense.

He may want to look at our electronic voltage regulator hidden inside an old Mopar points style box, it'll help preserve the old look.
Once we get to 12V we can build a distributor with a pick-up coil in it and hide our A688 ignition kit under the dash for a bullet proof ignition system.
