I am assembling my 440 using mopar performance steel shim headgaskets and I have two questions: is there anything special i should spray on gasket(copper spray) before installation? and since these are .020 thinner than a standard gasket do i need to shim the rocker shaft .020 to not have excessive preload on the lifter? and one more. does head bolt torque stay the same?

I use the spray gasket sealer on them , the bolt torque remains the same , You need to check pushrod length

I had similar problem. I put MP thin head gasket and also milled heads to raise CR. After installation engine don`t start...plugs was full of gasoline and whole evening I thought what was wrong. Then I released that I need to shorten pushrods also:) Valves was "open" hole time. After shorten pushrods everything was OK again.
